In November, my colleague Ethan and I were on a train heading down to the Big Smoke for our first alumni event since the lockdowns. We shuffled round our table and started to talk about Giving Day 2022.
Ethan had been a critical player in Giving Day 2021. He had taken care of all our social media posting which was so important to our relative success. He is smart, keen, efficient and above all excited about what 2022 would offer.
By Doncaster, we had the basics of the day mapped out – our main courses, and our basic narratives.
By Peterborough, we had begun to identify how we were going to engage with pupils, parents, recent leavers, older ODs etc. We rejected a few ideas too but we now have our outline plan we could return to after Christmas.
The key focus was going to be using our house system to encourage participation at all levels.
