Here’s an illustration I did this weekend for our Junior Production of The Wizard of Oz in June. I will some other time link the Yellow Brick Road back to Fundraising. However, for now this is about doing other things, as well as Giving Day.
Giving Day is important but it isn’t the be-all and end-all of the job. There are other fundraising tasks, and other office activities you might be engaged with as a senior manager in your school. Making time for the rest of your life is also important.
It is all very well but in the lead up to the day, how can you manage your time better?
Scheduling
The package we are using to deliver our giving day lets us schedule posts, emails, texts etc well in advance. With 8 days to go we are already stacking up the queue so if we go a man down over Giving Day, most of the day will happen on autopilot.
Now, you still need a pilot, but knowing there are things in place for when things might go off schedule on the day is great, and frees us up to do the fun stuff – interacting with alumni, pupils and staff for example.
