I am terrible at DIY, and therefore Bank Holidays fill me dread. I know there are things around the house that need fixing, and ideally I’d bring in a tradesman – but actually sometimes I just need to skill up and do the job.
George our painter at work makes painting look easy. He is quick, thorough, makes very little mess, and his lifetime of experience means each little job is just that. When I paint it takes a day, I have to get all the stuff out of the shed, and while as I have got older my armoury has got better, I still have to allow an hour to clean up. It may be a design agency, a consultancy, whatever. However, sometimes you can get nearly as good results, learning how to do something and giving it a go yourself.
